After five years of hard work and close collaboration with Historic England and Dorset Council, the team have performed emergency works that have stabilised and restored areas of the building & prevented further decay, whilst securing several key planning applications; the Boathouse, Beehive Lodges, River Lodges, Dower Houses, and reinstatement of the original formal entrance.
These have been major milestones in the mission to save the main house and create a truly unique hospitality experience which will sustain the long-term future of the estate.
Parnham’s revival is guided by a shared commitment to heritage, craftsmanship and long-term stewardship.

Sophie Perkins is the driving force in transforming a once forgotten estate into a living landscape of creativity, nature and community. She believes that the land can reconnect people – especially children – with the natural world through gardens, food, craft and shared experiences.
Since moving to Parnham, she has worked with the garden team to nurture new ecosystems across the parkland, bringing life back to neglected land. Beehives now produce honey, orchards yield apples for juice, and the gardens continue to grow with biodiversity and purpose.
Parnham is becoming a home for makers, artists, gardeners, potters and craftspeople who share Sophie’s belief that creativity and nature belong together. Together, their vision balances conservation with vitality, honouring legacy while creating relevance for today.
Parnham is set to be James’ biggest project yet. Located near Beaminster in Dorset, England, Parnham Park is a historic Grade I listed building with a rich and fascinating history that dates back to the 16th century that sadly suffered a devastating fire. The house is one of the finest examples of architecture in the county, and something James and Sophie are determined to save. The team involved in the restoration of Parnham includes the world-renowned architect Thomas Heatherwick, working alongside historic England, Dorset council and a team of the most skilled and knowledgeable consultants and craftsmen in the West Country.
The otherworldly backdrop of the house and grounds will not only be one of the most incomparable renovation projects in the world, but will be where James and Sophie can offer their home to guests for events, private functions, milestone celebrations & exhibitions. Their international reputation as ambassadors for the UK hospitality industry has led to collaborations with some of the best luxury brands in the world, they have hosted notable events and featured in several major fashion campaigns. The couple’s passion for detail and entertaining means that their previous home Aynhoe Park acclaimed the best venue in the world in 2021.
James and Sophie’s vision is to offer guests a true escape from the everyday. Immerse yourself in nature as you explore the historic grounds and the stunning Jurassic Coast. Inside, celebrate creativity and relaxation through unique experiences like workshops, the arts, and curated activities. Parnham is a place of discovery, a place where history meets nature, offering a sanctuary of rejuvenation and inspiration.
