The Vision

James & Sophie’s vision for the Parnham Estate is, at its heart, to save and restore an exceptional historic house and to provide a home for their family that they in turn share.

THE VISION FOR PARNHAM

James Perkins has an extensive record in regenerating and restoring important grade 1 and grade 2 listed country homes. Over the last 2 decades, he has been responsible for large-scale restorations of prestigious historic buildings across the UK. A number of his projects have been recognised with awards for their sensitivity, accuracy, architectural ambition and notoriety

Restoring Parnham’s Legacy

Parnham is set to be James’ biggest project yet. Located near Beaminster in Dorset, England, Parnham Park is a historic Grade I listed building with a rich and fascinating history that dates back to the 16th century that sadly suffered a devastating fire. The house is one of the finest examples of architecture in the county, and something James and Sophie are determined to save. The team involved in the restoration of Parnham includes the world-renowned architect Thomas Heatherwick, working alongside historic England, Dorset council and a team of the most skilled and knowledgeable consultants and craftsmen in the West Country.

redefining elegance

The otherworldly backdrop of the house and grounds will not only be one of the most incomparable renovation projects in the world, but will be where James and Sophie can offer their home to guests for events, private functions, milestone celebrations & exhibitions. Their international reputation as ambassadors for the UK hospitality industry has led to collaborations with some of the best luxury brands in the world, they have hosted notable events and featured in several major fashion campaigns.  The couple’s passion for detail and entertaining means that their previous home Aynhoe Park acclaimed the best venue in the world  in 2021.

the art of escape

James and Sophie’s vision is to offer guests a true escape from the everyday. Immerse yourself in nature as you explore the historic grounds and the stunning Jurassic Coast. Inside, celebrate creativity and relaxation through unique experiences like workshops, the arts, and curated activities. Parnham is a place of discovery, a place where history meets nature, offering a sanctuary of rejuvenation and inspiration.

With five bedrooms already completed in the main house – that include kitchen, sitting room, dining hall, library and of course cellar speak easy – you can now stay within the evolving renovation.
